I have always loved sewing. My grandmother was a gifted seamstress. I treasured spending time with her while she effortlessly created extraordinary works out of mere pieces of fabric. It was like magic. Time with her was always well spent. Now, when I sew, I can't help but feel connected to her. We are stitching together in time, and I know we are not the only ones. Sewing connects so many and I love it - the community is strong. I sewed regularly until my job and my children left time for little else. This past year, my youngest went off to college, and I have begun anew. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I sat down for my first project. I am a little rusty, but the muscle memory is strong, and I have hit the ground running. Stay tuned for photos of my projects, and as I share my thoughts about the plight of middle-aged women in existential crisis. You will get a good helping of both here.
